45 Day Moratorium

The Moratorium, from my understanding was to go into effect on December 1st at 12:01am. This meant that people were given a 45 day hiatus from being terrified any time their dogs barked, or someone knocked on the door, or an unknown car pulled into the drive way. On Dec 2nd after talking to a friend, I went home thinking that at least I had 45 days to continue trying to re-modify my morgage, and for the first time in a long time I felt a weight lifted off my shoulders. After all, my birthday was coming up as well as the Holidays and the New Year too! Yes, life felt good to have a little breathing room. It was short lived. On Dec 3rd I was served forclosure papers and have 20 days to respond. All my concerns re-appeared so quickly, I cried for hours. What happened to the moratorium that went into efect on Dec 1st?? It appears the left hand and right hand of the people who made this decision did not collaborate with the others who agreed to join forces. Has anyone else had the same thing happen to them? I would be interested to hear from anyone who is going thro' the same thing and how they are or will handle this.Any info will help! Thanks
