The Associated Press reports that a state agency says it accidentally put the Social Security numbers of about 250,000 job seekers on the Internet for 19 days.

The security breach occurred on a test server in October, the Agency for Workforce Innovation disclosed late Wednesday.

It exposed the Social Security numbers of customers served at the agency's One-Stop Career Centers between January 2002 and November 2007.

Upon discovering the breach, the agency notified law enforcement agencies and began an investigation.

Officials said they had no reason to believe personal information has been accessed for unlawful purposes.

The agency also is notifying affected customers by mail.

People can determine if their information was included in the breach through this website: http://www.floridajobs.org/security/.

This is inexcusable. But if someone accidentally or unintentionally relays hippa information the person or practice or company can be sued for millions and fined! All the people get for displaying personal social security numbers which a huge security rish to anyone is a "letter"..unbelievable!
