It's been less than a month since Hannah Finch and her family lost their Vernon area home to not one, but two fires.

The community responded immediately to help the girl who has become famous locally for collecting soda can tabs.

Donors are helping with, not only the daily necessities, but also making sure Hannah had a Christmas this year. Now the Finch family wants to express its gratitude to all who've helped them come this far.

It's hard to believe the Finches have only been living in their temporary home for two weeks. They've worked around-the-clock to make it look as cozy as possible. Christmas presents and laughter fill their living room now.

Dede Finch says she is amazed at how much they've been given.

"If you would've asked me two weeks ago if it would've been like this, I would've said 'No.' With the help of everybody, you know even putting things together, our family, friends, complete strangers...if it wasn't for them, we wouldn't be here right now."

In early December, the family lost their home to a fire caused by a heat lamp. Two days later, the embers rekindled what little was left. About all they could salvage was these picture frames.

But donations quickly poured in from Radio Shack, Walmart, McDonald's and lots of other people.

"We've had people just leaving them on the doorsteps, and there's no name, except for who the presents are for."

And sitting next to all those gifts are more soda tabs. Hannah says she's even reaching for a new goal now.

"Five million...cause I'm tired of going from one, two, three, four...I'm just skipping."

But there's still one more wish she wants from Santa that may not come in a box.

"All I want for Christmas is a new tooth...(laughs)

The Finches also received several checks in the mail from anonymous donors. They've deposited the money into a benefit fund and hope to use it as a down payment on a new home.
