The official Probable Cause report on a deadly plane crash 2 years and one week ago at Greenhead in southern Washington County was issued Monday by the National Transportation Safety Board.

Five Destin residents were killed in the crash of their twin engine Cessna December 22nd 2006.

The N-T-S-B, in the final report issued Monday morning, says it ruled out mechanical problems with the plane.

The crash was linked to improper planning on the pilot's part and continued flight into a level five severe thunderstorm.

The veteran pilot, with thousands of hours flight experience, was also a test pilot. He was flying his four passengers from Destin to the Bahamas at the time.

The plane flew into a 15 mile long severe thunderstorm, went out of control and slammed to the ground.

No one survived.
