A local woman has a lot more to celebrate than just the New Year. Peggy Alpaugh was born on December 31, 1905, meaning Wednesday is her 103rd birthday.
She celebrated with her family and friends at the captain’s table in St. Andrews this afternoon. Alpaugh was born in Port Washington, and when she was younger used to babysit at the Wesley Mansion for the Wesley family.
"She has a drink of scotch about twice a year. We'll have one when we get home tonight," joked her son Chappy Chambers, before adding, "She's just hard working. She works in the yard, still works in the yard four or five hours a day and she irons all the clothes in the house."
