Sheriff's deputies responded to a 911 call around three in the morning on Rock Hill Road, and found Ricky Alan Wells shot to death.

The only person with Ricky Wells at the time of his death was his ex-wife Frankie Sue Wells. According to the 911 call Wells death was a result of a game gone terribly wrong.

Tuesday morning, the home on Rock Hill Road turned into a crime scene after the home owner, 59-year-old Ricky Alan Wells, was shot to death. His ex-wife, Frankie Sue Wells, called 911 to report the shooting and claims Wells death was an accident.

Wells: There's been a shooting please hurry.

911: Ma'am who shot him?

Wells: It was an Accident.

911: Is he awake?

Wells: No he's bleeding. He's shot in the head. Hurry.

911: Sue, who shot him?

Wells: We were both in here. He was playing quick draw.

911: OK, he was playing quick draw. What kind of gun?

Wells: He had a 45 and I had a 38. He said they were unloaded. And we were just playing.

Officers arrested Frankie Sue Wells Tuesday afternoon and charged her with possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia. She is being held in the county jail on $1,000 bond.

No arrests have been made yet in connection with the shooting. But investigators say they only have one suspect.

Bill Chapman, W.C.S.O. says, "We have one individual that we're looking at. And we're just going to have to hold that for the time being."

According to the County's Corrections Director, Ricky Wells has a long list of arrests in Walton County including domestic battery and assault, disorderly intoxication. In 1999, he was arrested and charged with DUI and leaving the scene of an accident. We'll continue to follow this story and bring you more information as is becomes available.

I am Ricks brother... this day is the 1yr anniversary since Sue shot him, nothing has changed in the investagation that anyone could claim self defense,The case was closed simply because the accused killed herself and there was no one to charge for this crime. I have a complete copy of the investagation and there is no findings of self defense. The only thing that has changed from 1 yr ago is I miss him more. I Love You Rick...God and the angels have you now, I will keep you alive here with memorys and constant thoughts of you.

I'm the Duaghter of Frankie Wells, and she would have never shot Ricky if she didn't have to! The real victims of this crime are the family because now we have neither Mom nor Dad! The Walton County Sherriff's office needs to be fired for what they have done ! The neighbor to the house called the sherriffs ofice a week before mom shot him to complain about dad shooting the guns off at all hours of the night and they told her there was nothing they could do but they could have he was not allowed to be in possesion of a gun and they(sherriffs ofice ) knew this! The neighbor even knew it! She told them this on the phone about 2 in the moring! My mom has taken her own life and now we find out it was self defense! That's right she had to shoot him but she could never live without Rick no matter what I know they would have never left each other as sick as the relationship was on both parts they loved each other deeply! I'm sorry for the pain this has bought to the Wells family and to ours!
