Sheriff's deputies responded to a 911 call around three in the morning on Rock Hill Road, and found Ricky Alan Wells shot to death.
The only person with Ricky Wells at the time of his death was his ex-wife Frankie Sue Wells. According to the 911 call Wells death was a result of a game gone terribly wrong.
Tuesday morning, the home on Rock Hill Road turned into a crime scene after the home owner, 59-year-old Ricky Alan Wells, was shot to death. His ex-wife, Frankie Sue Wells, called 911 to report the shooting and claims Wells death was an accident.
Wells: There's been a shooting please hurry.
911: Ma'am who shot him?
Wells: It was an Accident.
911: Is he awake?
Wells: No he's bleeding. He's shot in the head. Hurry.
911: Sue, who shot him?
Wells: We were both in here. He was playing quick draw.
911: OK, he was playing quick draw. What kind of gun?
Wells: He had a 45 and I had a 38. He said they were unloaded. And we were just playing.
Officers arrested Frankie Sue Wells Tuesday afternoon and charged her with possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia. She is being held in the county jail on $1,000 bond.
No arrests have been made yet in connection with the shooting. But investigators say they only have one suspect.
Bill Chapman, W.C.S.O. says, "We have one individual that we're looking at. And we're just going to have to hold that for the time being."
According to the County's Corrections Director, Ricky Wells has a long list of arrests in Walton County including domestic battery and assault, disorderly intoxication. In 1999, he was arrested and charged with DUI and leaving the scene of an accident. We'll continue to follow this story and bring you more information as is becomes available.
