First of all, I completely disagree with the criminalization of medicine. If a physician has committed malpractice then it should be the board of medicine who descides. "Over prescribing," what does that mean and in whose dictionary. Using another person's DEA number to write a prescription = jail. That I can understand! But who is to say that the physician has overprescribed... an incompetent jury? I do not know dr. webb but I bet you he didn't believe he was over prescribing pain medication. Does the DEA want pain patients to seek relief from the streets? That's the important question. Is everybody a drug addict and drug seeker until proven otherwise? Is the board of medicine, the Department of Health, and the Department of Drug Enforcement incompetent to decide whether a physician has committed malpractice? Is the DEA's policy, let the patients die, let them doctor shop, we want an indictment, a big show, a crown for our efforts. They must be making BIG BUCKS from illicit drugs.

I know Dr. Web, He is not the greatest doctor, But doctors should be judged by the Board of Medicine first, If there is a crime? the Board should report them to the proper authority. this is the Law and the Law should be followed. We are not a police state!

I've also been a patient of his for 3 years, and agree with the below "actual patient". People should hold themselves accountable for what they put into their bodies. I distrust pharmaceutical companies about as much as the professional pushers, but given a prescription to drink a bottle of bleach a day, I'm sure that a warning label somewhere should have given the proper indication of it being a bad idea. Having said that, I despise the patients and any assistance they had in obtaining these controlled substances. They are the thieves at work, when guests at your home, and no better than white collar junkies. It took several years to finally find the appropriate combination of prescriptions, including a very expensive MRI and years of pain, anxiety and panic attacks, and insomnia. Now my records aren't mine and the very act of seeking another doctor makes me appear to be the sort of junkie that is responsible for this mess in the first place. No insurance, no doctor, great.

Men like this greedy, over-educated, arrogant "drug-pusher" make GOOD, honest and reputable physicians afraid of acting in the best interest of their patients. I hope they throw the book at him and his staff. Additionally, can't his patients sue him on some sort of civil action since his actions have caused their private medical records, protected under HIPAA laws to be voilated and purused by a multitude of people in the law enforcement agencies. This is a horrific violation of what was supposed to be doctor-patient privilege. Does anyone know how his legitimate patients are supposed to obtain their medical records?? We know the drug-seeking addicts will never request their records...no REAL medical personnel would do what Webb did. What happened to "FIRST DO NO HARM"??????

I came across this article because my granddaughter's school had a piece on the study of Egypt in the same area as this doctor's practice. It caught my eye since her father was hit by a drunk driver two years ago & cannot walk without a cane & cannot get anyone to put him on disability or Medicaid, Medicare, etc. He is in constant pain & taking medicine that hopefully won't become addictive. It's doctors like this one in Destin who are greedy & prey on sick people & don't care about them just how much money they can milk out of the system, No wonder people like my son can't get help from the gov't. I worked in a hospital in the 60's in Calif. in the billing dept. & the doctor who came in to see the Medicare patients (40 or so)would be down in the breakroom most of the time visiting with the head nurse. He had a wife & 5 kids, too!! So, I am happy they finally caught up with one rotten egg!!!

As someone who has been a patient of Dr. Webb for 3 years I will say I have no problem controlling my use of the controlled substance that he prescribed me, when someone starts abusing their RX that is NOT the Dr.'s fault. There are plenty of warnings on every medication filled by a the pharmacy, and patients HAVE A CHOICE to take the medication or not; and if you don't read the information provided by the pharmacy then shame on you. Patients need to learn to take responsibility for their health and their treatment. NO ONE BECOMES A PILL HEAD OVERNIGHT. If you don't like the doctor or how he is treating you and/or your condition then you should find another doctor. The real victims of this atrocity are the patients who Dr. Webb treated and improved their quality of life and now have no Dr, have no access to their records and now must bear the many burdens associated with finding new doctor without records of expensive tests, history or diagnosis.

There has got to be restitution out there for this Dr's victims, myself included. This man got me hooked and it is costing me a lot of grief and money to get off these drugs.

Praise God!! Better late than never! My families life was changed forever because of Dr. Webb. Our daughter tried to let Dr. Webb know of her father's issues relating to the drugs he was prescribing and Dr. Webb nor his staff would not listen. Our loved one took his life nearly 2 years ago. I could go on and on but at this point at least one of these doctors is off the street!
