The roof collapsed at True Holiness Community Church in Blountstown early Monday morning. Luckily no one was injured.
Church members were raising money for more than a year to remodel their building. The church, at the end of River Street, needed a new roof before moving forward with plans to expand.
Builders promised to finish the roof last Saturday. However, it collapsed sometime late Sunday or early Monday. The builders say the contractors were already talking with attorneys to fix the situation.
For now, Pastor Edward Brigham says the church is waiting to pick up the pieces. "We're going to definitely have to move out no doubt, to try to find someplace else to go because we can't have service in here," he said.
The church has set up a trust fund to help with the cost of the damages. If you would like to make a donation, stop by Superior Bank in Blountstown.
