When you think of Boy Scouts you think usually think outdoors, but not the case Saturday morning for a group of local Boy Scouts who spent the morning and afternoon skating away indoors.
The Lake Sands District Skate-A-Thon was held Saturday at Panama City's Skate Factory.
At the end of the event the skaters walked away with a well deserved merit badge.
Event organizer say the Skate-A-Thon was more than just having fun.
"For scouts having fun and learning goes hand to hand. Most events we do have a learning element which is a win win for them and their parents," says District Executive Christian Shepherd.
