This Year's First Spring Break Balcony Climbing Incident
|
|
A spring breaker falls while climbing onto the roof of a Panama City Beach hotel.
20 year old Jonathan Dale Dial of Crossville, Tennessee climbed from balcony onto the metal roof at the Super 8 motel in the 11,000 block of Front Beach Road around 10:30 Tuesday night.
Apparently, the heavy dew and incoming fog bank had made the metal roof slippery, and the spring breaker fell about 12 to 15 feet, causing multiple facial fractures, and costing him a mouthful of teeth.
Panama City Beach police say he was taken to a local hospital with what were described as non-life threatening injuries.
It's the first balcony related accident of the current spring break season.

After hearing what happened spring break and knowing the family involved I have to imput my thoughts also. This child was on break from college. It took two hard working parents to get him there. With legal drinking and alcohol purchasing age in Fl. at "21" the interest of Fl. seems to be more on making profits than the safety of the young people the laws are trying to protect. Hopefully there will be someone in the legal profession that will recognize this and assist the families affected by the negligence of businesses not just in Fl. but all those that profit from American youths.
For UAB - Jon lost only 1 tooth in his fall. His face is completely healed and is almost pain free. He made a mistake, he now has to live with it. Apparently you and yours have never made a dumb mistake. I feel for you and your perfect existence.
uab dad where do you get off making a comment like that. The only reason you're on on this site is because you have a child down there on spring break too. Thats why I'm here. You want to see whats going on. I suggest before you judge anyone look at your own life. Is that what you are judging? He did a stupid thing, be thankful he didn't get behind a wheel it would have been alot worse. Alabama?? do you even have your teeth??? Tenn. family my prayers are with you.
