Panama City Beach Summer Ad Campaign
Spring break is still underway, but summer will be here before you know it.
The Bay County Tourist Development Council is preparing to attract a whole new demographic of vacationers.
TDC members are reviewing several new ad campaigns to get them here.

Real. Fun. Beach.
You'll be seeing these three words a lot this summer.
That's the theme of the new summer ad campaign for Panama City Beach.
Peter Yesawich represents Y Partnership, one of the ad agencies hired by the TDC.
He said, "The concept is to say that Panama City Beach is a place where real people enjoy real vacation experiences...real vacation memories. It's a place where you can come in a very casual and relaxed way."
On Thursday, Yesawich presented a number of print, outdoor, online and t.v. ads that will make up half of the beach's summer campaign.
The other half will be an online campaign for visitpanamacitybeach.com.
Jennifer Barbee Inc. is the brains behind the website ads, with the goal of personalizing and creating an intimate relationship with site visitors.
The campaign will utilize some of the social networking sites on the web.
Jennifer Barbee said, "We're going to social platform. So it's not just about that website anymore. It takes you on to Facebook, and Twitters, and Got Sagas, and it becomes a network if you will for Panama City Beach."
TDC officials have high hopes the two campaigns will work hand-in-hand to successfully promote the beaches.
TDC President Dan Rowe said, "I think both campaigns will do great work for us as we go into the 2009 summer travel season."
The TDC plans to roll-out both campaigns around the middle of April.

i visited panama city beach in the spring of 2007. lots of construction due to the hurricane's previous rampage but was still as i remembered it in '68, a beautiful beach. i am happy to see this happening and am totally supportive and can't wait to see the results of these two campaigns. p.s. as for ruth, why, if you think this is where there are "diseased, drugged, sexually active kids" having a break from college why you have spent the last seven years there? i think comments like this should be screened. obviously ruth is psycho.
i don't think you will see a great number of tourists flocking to the beach until SPRING BREAK gets under control...i personally would not come to the beach where spring breakers had been with their diseased, drugged, sexually active behavior was acceptable...after spending seven winters in pcb, i will not return..
