An improvement to the new Thomas Drive flyover will make it easier for cars traveling westbound to get onto Front Beach Road.
Tuesday's traffic shift will allow westbound motorists to access Front Beach Road without stopping at any traffic signals, except at Thomas Drive and 98. The existing signal at the connector road on Back Beach near Ronnie Auto Parts will be removed.
Eastbound traffic on Back Beach will continue to use the connector road to reach Thomas Drive, the Naval Support Facility, Wildwood Road, and the Woodlawn community.
While construction is underway motorists are reminded to drive carefully though construction zones. Speeding fines are doubled when workers are present.
Several more traffic pattern changes are expected in the next few days.
