One Dead, Two Critically Injured In Area Traffic Crashes

On Okaloosa County traffic crash has left a Laurel Hill resident dead.
The Florida Highway Patrol says 65 year old Young J. Vandrasek died after failing to yield the right of way to a semi-tractor trailer rig at State Road 85 and Bill Lundy road in north Okaloosa County.
Troopers say as Vandrasek pulled onto highway 85 the car was struck by the semi and then crashed in to a utility pole.
The accident occurred before dawn Tuesday morning. Vandresek died yesterday afternoon.
Meanwhile two people are in critical conditional following a single car crash in Calhoun County at State Road 71 at the intersection of County Road 275.
Critically injured were the driver 27 year old Brian Hatcher and his passenger 30 year old Beverly Suzanne Garrett, both of Tallahassee.
The Florida Highway Patrol says the couple’s car ran into a ditch, into the parking lot of an abandoned gas station where it struck metal posts, a gas pump, a metal sign post. They car then overturned at hit a septic tank and two concrete posts before coming to rest upside down in the yard of an adjacent home.
Both are in very critical condition.
