Panhandle Donkey Draggers Going to Jail

Two Escambia County men accused of dragging a donkey behind their pickup will be going to jail.

Matthew Ramsey and Terry Skinner were sentenced Tuesday to nearly a year in jail and placed on two years of probation.

They will also have to pay a $5,000 fine and almost $400 in court costs.

They could've received up to five years in prison for the third degree felony animal cruelty charge.

They were arrested in March for allegedly dragging a donkey more than 75 feet. They told police the animal refused to get in the pickup.

A family has adopted the donkey.
