Bay County Man Acquitted of Sexual Assault Hoax Phone Call

You've got to know if the man on the other end of the phone is really a police officer who is telling your boss to strip search you to see if you've stolen something.

A man called a McDonald's and talked the managers into strip searching and sexually abusing an 18-year-old female employee.

David Stewart of Fountain, Florida was charged with impersonating a police officer, soliciting sodomy and soliciting sexual abuse.

Prosecutors in the criminal trial said he called a Louisville area McDonald's in 2004 and told a manager to strip search the employee to see if she had stolen anything.

The victim testified she was forced into sexual acts on the assistant manager's boyfriend during the three-and-a-half-hour conversation. McDonald's said the woman should have realized Stewart was not a police officer.

The assistant manager's boyfriend pleaded guilty to sexual abuse and got five years in prison.

The victim is still suing Stewart and McDonald's in civil court for $200 million.
