Knife at school spells trouble for girl, 7, in Lynn Haven

A seven-year-old girl from Lynn Haven is in big trouble for bringing a knife to her elementary school.

According to a police report, the girl said she wanted to stab a boy who had bullied her.

The girl was arrested and charged with felony possession of a weapon on school property. She faces expulsion from Lynn Haven
Elementary School.

Bay District School Board member Donna Allen says state law requires students be expelled for one school year if they bring a knife to school. The law does not discriminate based on age.

At least two other small children have been arrested this school year, according to district officials. Both were charged with striking school officials.
