The Jackson County Commission swore in two new commissioners Tuesday.

One of those new members is 23-year-old Jeremy Branch.

Branch is the youngest commissioner ever elected to the board in the county's history.

He will serve as the new District 4 commissioner.

Edward Crutchfield was also sworn in at Tuesday’s ceremony.

He will serve as the new District 2 commissioner for Jackson County.

"There's a huge amount of responsibility without a doubt, but a huge amount of joy and excitement. I'm extremely pleased to go ahead and get to work for the citizens of Jackson County. It's extremely exhilarating," said Branch.

Commissioner Edward Crutchfield said, "I'm looking forward to helping and serving the people and doing what I can for them."

Branch says training for the position has already begun.

He’s been meeting with citizens and constituents to discuss issues within the county.
