A new book tells stories of corruption in the Walton County Sheriff's Department.
Dennis Wise worked at the Broward County Sheriff's Department for 30 years and in the Walton County Sheriff's Department from 2001 till his retirement in 2005.
His book, "Honor Above All Else: Removing the Veil of Secrecy", tells about Wise's personal experiences in law enforcement.
One story tells about Walton County deputies ignoring a call because they were eating breakfast together.
Wise's book also tells of nepotism, preferential treatment given to stars, and officers who got away with almost anything.
Wise wrote the book because he says something must be done.
The Walton County Sheriff's Department says Wise's book is a work of fiction and he can say anything he wants.
Wise says all the accounts in the book are true.
