Shawn Self of Louisville, Kentucky fell an estimated eight stories. He was pronounced dead on the scene from injuries sustained from the fall.

An eyewitness from Bristol, Tennessee, who is here on vacation, says he was having coffee with his wife at around 6 a.m. Saturday morning when they heard screams and moans right outside their room on the 11th floor.

When they walked outside on the balcony overlooking Front Beach Road they say they saw several members of Self's family in deep grief and mourning.

Mark Thompson, an eyewitness, said, "It's not an imposition on us. We just feel sorry for the family. They'll be in our prayers. Death is a part of life wherever you go, and it just makes every moment that we're here or anywhere else together that much more precious."

Thompson says he hadn't met Shawn Self personally. Investigators say an autopsy is being scheduled.
