A Fountain family that lost everything in an early morning fire is trying to pick up the pieces.

Their mobile home went up in flames around 3:30 Wednesday morning.

Firefighters from six fire departments battled the flames for nearly two hours.

The family says the fire started in the kitchen.

Friends and family members were on hand to help them sort through the rubble.

"My fiancé got up to go the bathroom. She smelled smoke, and she woke us up. We got our kids out and I went back in to try to save the dog and our birds, but the smoke was too thick for saving anything in the house," said Joshua Sell.

If you'd like to help the family, you can make donations to a benefit bank account set up at People's First Community Bank in Fountain.
