After 24 years in the state legislature and almost four years as Lieutenant Governor, Toni Jennings says she’s looking forward to going home.
Jennings’ term as the number two person in the Jeb Bush administration comes to an end on January 2nd and she’s bailing on Tallahassee.
Jennings says there’s no place like home. "Well gosh, I have to pack up a house. I have to get rid of some furniture. But it’s Orlando; home is Orlando and that’s what I’ll be doing. I don’t know exactly what I’ll be doing yet, but I’m not worried about it.”
Jennings says she’s not interested in any more political gigs, but she might have her eye on the University of Central Florida.
The President of UCF, John Hitt has been slowed by health problems and there’s speculation that Jennings could be in line to replace him.
While she’s not interested in another political post, Jennings isn’t ruling out the UCF option. She says it’s not a political job.
