Most people outside of Jackson County haven't heard of Jerrell Lee.
But that may be changing.
Jerrell has a nice supporting role in the big budget film "The Proposal", opening this weekend and starring Sandra Bullock and Ryan Reynolds.
He plays the role of Reynolds' office buddy .
Lee's recent success has even made his dad, Tony, feel a little bit famous.

Most of us watch movies because we can relate to the characters or the plot.
But Jackson County Fire Rescue Chief Tony Wesley has different reasons for making "The Proposal" his favorite movie before it's out in theaters.
"Well, 'Tombstone' used to be my favorite movie but now 'The Proposal' is my favorite movie because my son's in it."
Jerrell Lee plays the role of Jordan, who is Ryan Reynolds' office buddy.
The plot centers around an overbearing boss, played by Sandra Bullock, who forces Reynolds to marry her so she won't face deportation.
It's Lee's first major film role and his dad couldn't be happier.
"Oh, I'm real proud, real proud, my head was about two sizes smaller than this before I found out."
Growing up in Graceville, Lee was incredibly athletic and even played football at the University of Kentucky.
But acting always seemed to be in the back of his mind.
Wesley says he wasn't too thrilled when his son first told him he was moving to Los Angeles.
"I said 'out of all the places you could move, you move to the west coast as far away from home as you can get I guess.'"
But he still supported him and jokes about how much money Lee had when he made the trip.
"I found out now about $1200 but when he moved, I think he said it was more than that probably he wanted some from dad probably."
It took a lot of perseverance before Lee started landing some minor roles, including one as a paramedic in "Boston Public."
Lee credits his dad for much of his success and sacrificing his own dream of playing professional baseball.
"Brought up, he worked hard and so we learned that hard work was going to get us where we want to be. He gave up one of his dreams so he could come back and raise his family."
Wesley says he's living some of his dreams through his son now.
And he can't wait to see the movie.
"I'm planning to go tomorrow, Friday, Saturday, Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, that way I get a chance to see him more than once a year!"

Jerrell also has small parts in two other big films yet to be released.
One, called "The Box", stars Cameron Diaz.
The other is a Martin Scorsese film called "Shutter Island" starring Leonardo DiCaprio, Mark Ruffalo and Ben Kingsley.
