Springfield police officers say they received a call from Tampa early Monday morning. The caller said they had received an email from somebody claiming to 604 Jennings Avenue in Springfield. The alleged email was from a girl who said she had been stabbed by her boyfriend.

But, when police showed up after midnight this morning, they searched the house and found nothing -- not even a female on the premises. Law enforcement officials have more questions than answers at this point, and this strange incident also puzzles the residents.

Briggiette Barkley, who lives at the house, says, "It's scary because I don't know that there's another Jennings in Panama City and I just didn't think that was right. That's scaring people at that time of morning, coming busting in their house."

Springfield Police say they do not have the name of the caller.

Why have we heard or read nothing more of this incident? This is a serious matter that should have already been addressed by the Springfield Police Department. Did they actually "bust" into someone's home using an anomymous telephone tip from 400 miles away as their search warrant? Seems to me we should already have more information about this incident.
