A Fountain family is just learning they've lost their home in a devastating fire. Fire officials say it's a total loss.
The fire started about 7:30 Monday evening at the home on Creekhaven Road just north of Highway 20 and east of Highway 231 in Fountain.
By the time the first group of firefighters arrived, the roof of the home partially collapsed. It didn't take long for the entire roof the cave-in.
Crews from 5-different Bay County fire departments responded. Tthey were still dousing the hot spots 2-hours later.
The older home was a wooden structure, so the flames gutted everything. A couple and their daughter lived there but no one was home when the blaze started.
The State Fire Marshal's office is now looking for a cause of the fire.
