4th of July Numbers Look Good

Updated: Sun 7:24 PM, Jul 08, 2012

Local officials are optimistic about the economic impact the 4th of July weekend could have in Panama City Beach.

Susan Estler of the Tourism Development Council says that their industry partners all are having a "tremendous week," partially due to the fact that July 4th fell on a Wednesday.

"Having 4th of July in the middle of the week has meant that many people are taking the rest of the week off, beginning of the week or the end of the week or entire week and spending it here in Panama City Beach."

Although official numbers aren't in different retail businesses and restaurants are saying they saw an increase in activity compared to last year.
