MOSSY HEAD - The Humane Society of the United States is offering a $5,000 reward for information that leads to the arrest and conviction of whoever shot and killed a family’s pet in Walton County.

On September 14, people riding horses found a dog’s body in the woods near Richardson Road in Mossy Head. The dog was identified as a two-year old Rottweiler named Helo. The dog had gone missing two days earlier.

“It takes a truly callous person to shoot and kill an innocent dog,” said Kate MacFall with The Humane Society of the United States. “We hope our reward helps find the person or persons who committed this heinous crime.”

Anyone with information about the case is asked to call 850-401-4028.
