Despite the wishes of Bay Medical Center's Board of Trustees, that panel now has a new member, courtesy of the Bay County Commission.
The commissioners unanimously chose railroad executive and consultant Donald Connor for the trustees position that’s now held by Tink Warren.
Four people, including Warren, applied for the job which carries a four-year term.
Connor is a former associate of former railroad owner Earl Durden, and served as a Vice President for CSX Railroad. Despite the wishes of Bay Medical Center's Board of Trustees, that panel now has a new
Connor told NewsChannel Seven he has one area of expertise which could prove valuable in governing an operation as large as the hospital.
"I think my main goal is to be part of the financial planning. That's one of my strengths, financial. It will be interesting reviewing the projects and the money required for those."
The commissioners chose to ignore the recommendation of the hospital trustees, which voted unanimously to recommend Mrs. Warren for a second term.
