A local man accused of taking money from homeowners for tree work and then disappearing without doing the work was convicted Friday in Bay County Circuit Court.
The six member jury deliberated two hours before finding Stacy T, Howard, 38 years old, guilty on charges of grand theft.
State Attorney Steve Meadows says several of the victims were elderly and addition grand theft charges and charges of exploitation of the elderly are pending.
Howard, of 9th Street in Parker, was jailed after the verdict was handed down. He’ll be sentenced on March 13 and faces a maximum of five years in prison.
