Friends, family, and many people throughout the city of Springfield paused for a moment this afternoon to pay honor to a pal.
The funeral of 40-year-old Springfield Fire Chief Chris Adams was held this afternoon at the Springfield Community Church.
Adams collapsed at City Hall Tuesday. He died at the hospital.
The Panama City Fire Department honored the fire chief by draping a huge American flag from their truck ladders across Transmitter Road as the funeral procession drove under.
Traffic was very congested, mostly in part to police closing Seventh Street from Transmitter to Bob Little Road.
Adams was laid to rest at the Lynn Haven Cemetery. City Hall will be closed at noon so city employees could attend the funeral.
It will reopen Monday morning at eight.
