More local troops are headed away from their families. Thursday a dozen more local Army reservists hits the road for Fort Stewart, Georgia, and families said their goodbyes.

Thirty-three-year old Pam Casson's mother and daughter waived goodbye Thursday morning from the Army Reserve Center on 15th Street. The 509th Transportation Detachment is trained in port operations, but they have not yet received their final mission.

For now the group is headed to Fort Stewart, but it's the ones left behind with the most tears.

The 12 reservists were honored last weekend before they shipped out. They join the more than 4,000 Florida troops already deployed to support Operation Iraqi Freedom last year.

The group could be overseas for a year and a half.
