Bay County Community Prepares for Soldiers' Homecoming

By  |

A local business owner is doing her part to welcome the soldiers home. This 'n That Gifts and More is donating yellow bows to the families of local soldiers fighting in Iraq.

The store is also selling the bows for $7.00 each. Owner Doris Brown hopes everyone will get into the spirit of honoring our soldiers, and wants to see a bow on every house and building in Bay County.

The Bay County Chamber is encouraging people to decorate the route the troops will travel to the armory.

Monday and Tuesday, Clear Channel Radio will be giving away yellow ribbons and American flags at the Panama City Mall.

Other local chambers are planning celebrations along the return route in Chipley. Clear Channel on-air personalities will be at Chipley's Emerald Grill restaurant Tuesday, handing out ribbons and flags to stoppers-by.

The exact return date is still up in the air, but we'll have the dates for the heroes’ homecoming here on news Channel 7 as soon as it's official.
