A new event is designed to help you fix up your home while raising money for the local Red Cross. The Gulf Coast Home and Garden Expo continued through the weekend with local businesses ready to doctor up your home.
You can get new flooring or windows, flowers for your yard or even a pool or spa. Participants are even giving away a brand new car. All the proceeds from event go to the local chapter of the American Red Cross.
"It's fundraising events like this that make running the Red Cross Possible. We have no government funding. We operate entirely on donations. All the money raised goes to disaster relief programs and helping people in need," Red Cross Executive Director Bob Pearce says.
The expo was being held in the Lincoln Building formally home of West Building Supplies. The event ran in conjunction with the 11th Annual Ted Cross Telethon.
