Panama City Beach should continue to live up to its name among spring breakers around the country as MTV announces yet another season of fun in the sun here locally.
MTV-U, a segment of the popular music network that broadcasts to more than 700 colleges, will set up shop here starting March 14. They'll be here for a week. The channel will bring a number of up and coming musical artists popular on college campuses.
Local tourist officials add to our area's spring break appeal that some say is fading away.
"It will add an element excitement to a spring break season that wasn't looking so good. The college kids want to go to where the action is, and Panama City Beach is definitely the place to be," says Jayna Leach from the Tourist Development Council.
MTV-U is setting up a special activities village on the beach in front of the Summit Condominiums, right next to Spinnaker.
