Gulf Coast Triathlon officials made several local charitable causes a little richer Friday.
The triathlon foundation handed-out checks to three different organizations.
Bay County Search and Rescue received a $1,000 check. Panama City Beach's "Cops and Kid's" program received a $3,000 check.
And the Florida Sheriff's Youth ranch also received a $3,000 check.
"One thing that we really want people to know. The Gulf Coast Triathlon is a local non-profit race. It's Bay County's race. It's Panama City's race. It's been here for 27 years and we just simply give back to the community and this is just an example of this," Brian Goddin, a Gulf Coast Triathlon board member said.
The Gulf Coast Triathlon generates more than $100,000 each year, with the majority going right back to the community.
