Sunday is the second day of the Mission's "Takin' it to the Streets" Fall Revival. Those in need are invited to come to get free food and blankets. Officials say they have helped two-hundred people every night.
The mission sponsored religious speakers and music, including songs from NewsChannel 7's Neysa Wilkins and her family. This event served as the kick-off to the mission's fall season. Officials say the poor economy is bringing more people from local neighborhoods.
Those who attended today's event say it was inspirational. Jerry Quinn, who is homeless, says, "It helped me because it touched me spiritually and gave me hope and faith in the Lord and just guiding me somewhere because here lately I've just been a lost vessel."
Rev. Billy Fox, with the Panama City Rescue Mission, says, "We are a Christian organization and this is our exercise of our Christian faith. That's what we're about and we want people to know the gospel and the power of the gospel and we want them to know how much we love them and care about them."
There is one more day left of the mission's fall revival. If you need help, head to the Rescue Mission between 4:00-7:00 Monday night.
