Cabinet Fire Follow-Up

The state's fire marshall is still investigating, but is tentatively ruling a weekend fire at a cabinet store as an accident.

The fire started a little after 2 a.m. Sunday morning at the AWP cabinet store on 3133 A Street in Hiland Park.

Bob Majka, the emergency operations chief for Bay County, says fire fighters responded within five minutes.

Majka says both the city of Callaway and Hiland Park Volunteer Fire Departments responded to the fire, which was fully involved when they arrived.

The fire was so intense crews were afraid it would spread to nearby homes, but luckily they were able to prevent that from happening.
