The Compton's apparently took-off from the Panama City-Bay County International Airport Monday and headed back home to Tulsa.
Air traffic controllers from Monroeville, Alabama lost the plane from radar about 10:00 a.m. somewhere over southwest Alabama. It crashed near the city of Arlington, about 100 miles north of Mobile.
The plane was a six-seat piper Malibu-Mirage.
Search teams didn't find the wreckage until late Monday night. No word yet on what caused the crash.
