Rescue Mission Task Force

A new task force organized to help the Panama City rescue mission made its first report to the Downtown Improvement Board Wednesday afternoon.

The DIB and Panama City officials are using results of a business owner survey to determine if the homeless pose a crime problem in the downtown area.

The task force is examining the possibility of relocating the rescue mission away from downtown.

DIB officials say they don't expect the task force to have any solid results or recommendations until members can do more research.
