A Good Spring for the Bay Towne Trolley System

The folks who run the Bay Towne Trolley say higher gas prices are driving more people to use the local trolley service. Ridership is up more than 53 percent since the first of the year.

Passenger numbers jumped 77 percent from February to March. The numbers were up 80 percent over March 2003.

Trolley managers believe the number of passengers will continue to rise right along with gas prices.

The local trolley service offers a month-long pass for just $15, that's less than the cost of a tank of gas. A day-pass costs $3 and a one-way ride is $1.
