West Bay Cleanup

Neighborhood beautification is the goal this Saturday in West Bay.

About 50 people offered a helping hand Saturday. Bay County Code Enforcement put together this Community Cleanup Day with help from the West Bay Volunteer Fire Department and the Bay County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies say ridding neighborhoods of yard trash helps deter crime. West Bay residents filled eight giant dumpsters Saturday. Missy Capiak with Bay County Code Enforcement says that's equal to about 100 tons of trash!

The next Community Cleanup Day is in Fountain in May.
