The Bay County Health Department is holding a seasonal flu clinic through Wednesday. It was a busy morning Monday, with officials distributing 80-shots in the first three hours.

The health department will file Medicare, but not other insurances. The seasonal flu shots cost $26 in Bay County. But, according to the Houston County Health Department, shots in Dothan are just $5.

Officials from both Bay and Houston counties do not know why there is such a price difference. But, they say it's important to get vaccinated against all strains of flu.

The priority group for seasonal flu is slightly different than the H1N1 virus. Julia Ruschmann, with the Bay County Health Department, says, "It's young children and older adults, so today we're seeing alot of our seniors getting their flu shot, which we encourage."

The Bay County Health Department will be holding seasonal flu clinics Tuesday and Wednesday, from 8-11 in the morning and 1-3 in the afternoon. They are also offering the pneumonia vaccine. You do not need to schedule an appointment.
