The Airport Authority Board has narrowed down a list of construction companies for the new Panama City-Bay County International Airport to three teams.
Wednesday, six construction firms pitched their planning ideas and schedules to the board in a special meeting.
In question and answer sessions, Airport Authority members stressed the importance of sticking to the airport's original budget.
The $317 million project is expected to get underway sometime this spring.
The board still needs to get an Army Corp permit before it can set a groundbreaking date.
Board members will meet again next Tuesday to choose a construction firm for the project.
