Four teenage girls from Ohio were driving south on Highway 231 for spring break when the driver lost control of the car and flipped two and a half times before stopping in the median.
Bay County Fire and Rescue out of Youngstown first responded to the one-car accident at about 2 p.m. Sunday afternoon.
According to Florida Highway Patrol Trooper Greg Jackson, 17-year old Jessica L. Corbin from Lancaster, Ohio was driving the 1997 Jeep Cherokee.
Corbin told the trooper she was side-swiped before heading into the median and flipping the jeep. Trooper Jackson told Newschannel Seven it looks like she fell asleep at the wheel before losing control.
Eighteen-year-old Kelli Babbit and Lacee Johnson, also of Lancaster, were both ejected from the Jeep and received neck and back injuries. Neither had on a seat belt.
