Area Man Jailed for Attempted Kidnapping

Officers say they found suspect Allen Williams of Fort Walton Beach hiding in a closet at a friend's apartment. He's now charged with attempted kidnapping.

Investigators say Williams was hiding in some trees Wednesday as three girls approached. They say he lunged at the youngest girl, who fell and scraped her leg while trying to escape.

The two older girls began screaming to get help.

The girls gave police a detailed description of their attacker and officers found him about a half-hour later.
