Local residents who shop at Adams Pharmacy will be saddened.

The drug store owners, long time Bay County residents, Ray and Mary Sue Adams are mourning the loss of their 24-year-old daughter Suzanne Adams. Florida Highway Patrol troopers say she was killed in an early morning car accident on Highway 389 near the Mowat Highlands neighborhood.

Troopers say it happened just after 4 a.m. Sunday. Adams was on her way home when troopers say a pick up truck driven by 42-year-old John Carter of Southport crossed the centerline.

Adams died at the scene. She was a graduate of Mosley High School and the University of Florida. She was set to receive her Master’s Degree in Speech Pathology from Valdosta State in May. Funeral arrangements are still being planned. The crash is under investigation and charges against Carter are pending.

He is recovering in a local hospital.
