Two Alabama men were killed in another fatal car crash just north of Marianna near the town of Malone.
Florida Highway Patrol officials say the men, who were driving a green Pontiac, pulled in front of a Dulle truck which had a trailer attached with two horses inside.
The impact of the collision caused one horse to be thrown to the ground. Both animals received cuts and scratches.
A 17-year-old Georgia teenager was driving the truck, but he escaped unharmed. FHP officials say both accidents could have been prevented.
"They need to, number one slow down and pay attention to their surroundings and not drink while they're driving, but if they just slow down and pay attention to their surroundings versus worrying about where they're going it will be a lot better scenario for them," says SGT Douglas Paskewitz.
A total of four people have died in car accidents this holiday weekend.
