A local man died in a head on collision early Sunday afternoon along Highway 77. He was driving northbound in a red sports car when he lost control and crossed into the southbound lane hitting a silver sedan head-on.

The man and woman in the sedan were airlifted to a Dothan hospital. The Alabama couple both were in critical condition. The impact of the collision caused the red sports car to back up into a silver pickup truck, but the man inside was not injured.

"Basically this wreck was probably the result of operating a vehicle too fast on wet roads, which in turn cost him to lose control and cross the center line," says Corporal Ron Cox.
