A Texas college student claims Francis raped her at a Miami hotel earlier this month.
The 21-year-old woman told police she met Francis at a bar inside the hotel and went up to his room. She told police she blacked out. When she woke up the next morning she says she was naked in bed with Francis. The woman says she believes her drink may have been drugged.
Police say she went to a hospital but did not initially report the incident. The victim was treated at a Miami hospital and then flew home.
Bobby Hernandez, a spokesman for the Miami Beach Police Department, says she contacted police about five days later.
“The rape treatment center is not required to contact us because she is over 18 and sometimes the victims don't want the police to be notified. This victim went home and talked to her parents, talked to some of her own friends and they decided she better do a police report, so she did."
Joe Francis and several of his employees are still facing criminal charges here in Panama City Beach for video taping underage girls on the beach during spring break last year.
