Rare Visitors in the Gulf

The Gulf waters have a rare visitor. The National Marine Fisheries Service says a mother and calf North Atlantic right whales were spotted off the coast of Panama City Beach.

NOAA Fisheries says this is only the second time right whales have been seen in the Gulf.

The right whale has a V shaped blow, dark skin and a broad tail that forms a wide triangular notch in the middle.

If you see one of the right whales, report it immediately to the Florida Fish and Wildlife at 888-404-FWCC.
