Bay County commissioners all voted to approve a one-year extension to keep CCA.
Starting in June, the county will begin payments for the $1.25 million contract, which includes structural improvements to the jails.
With the current contract, the commissioners are allowed to cancel the contract with CCA if they give a three-month notice by June.
Next year, the commissioners will again look at the contract and hear from other bidders.
